Julia Meltzer
Zero Waste Coordinator
Julia Meltzer (she/her) earned her Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management at The New School. Julia’s research focused on developing and applying a community-based equity lens to evaluate three North Brooklyn “greening” projects that were part of an environmental benefits fund to address the legacy of the second-largest oil spill in U.S. history. She has also advocated for climate and environmental justice and a Just Transition at the New York State level with NY Renews and organized around global justice and health equity at the federal level with grassroots organization Action Corps.
Prior to entering the environmental field, Julia worked as a production editor at HarperCollins Publishers. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, and enjoys visiting her local farmer’s market, collecting records, and exploring NYC with a film camera in hand.
