What motivated you to get involved with environmental issues?

Massachusetts continues to be a leader on environmental issues and I have been very passionate about the environment since my terms as Chair of the Springfield Park Commission.

What environmental issues are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about preserving natural resources, clean renewable energy, climate change and pollution. We have to preserve our environment for future generations so it is critical that we take necessary steps today for a cleaner tomorrow. 

How has NCEL helped you in your work?

NCEL has been a tremendous resource on information and networking.

What is your greatest environmental policy success story? 

Years ago, in my first term, I passed legislation in Massachusetts for renewable energy. In fact, I did my inaugural speech on the House floor about this bill and why it was important.
