Legislator Spotlight: Representative Adam Zabner, Iowa

What motivated you to get involved with environmental issues?

As the youngest member of the Iowa House, I feel responsible to make sure that Iowa’s natural beauty and climate are around for the next generation.

What environmental issues are you most passionate about and why? How have you worked in the legislature to address these issues?

I’m passionate about clean water. I’ve worked to shed light on this issue in the legislature and as the ranking Democrat on the house Natural Resources committee.

How has NCEL helped you in your work?

I’ve loved hearing about solutions in other states, many midwestern states share similar challenges.

What is your greatest environmental policy success story?

We passed a bill through the Iowa House protecting Iowa’s Black Bears from hunting.
