The Honorable Pricey Harrison
State Representative, North Carolina
Pricey Harrison is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 61. She was first elected to the chamber in 2004. Representative Harrison is the Immediate Past Board Chair of the National Conference of State Legislatures and a member of the NCEL Natural Resources and Infrastructure Committee. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the House Environment Committee, Member of the House Energy and Public Utilities Committee, the House Marine Resources and Aquaculture Committee, the House Appropriations Committee for Agriculture and Natural and Economic Resources, the House Judiciary I Committee, the House Election Law and Campaign Finance Committee, and the House Redistricting Committee. She also serves as an Advisory Member of the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Agriculture and Natural and Economic Resources, the Joint Legislative Commission on Energy Policy, and a Member of the Environmental Review Commission. She has served on a number of boards including the Environmental Defense Fund (National and Southeast), Environmental Grantmakers, Nature Conservancy NC Chapter, NC Coastal Federation, Southern Environmental Law Center, Piedmont Land Conservancy, NC Coastal Land Trust, Marine Science Boards at Duke University and the University of North Carolina, NC Coastal Resources Commission, and others.
Representative Harrison received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the recipient of multiple legislative awards, including awards from the Southern Environmental Law Center, the North Carolina League of Conservation Voters, and the NC Sustainable Energy Association.
