Regala's Ballast Water Bill Signed into Law by Governor

A Ballast Water Bill, sponored by Washington State Representative Debbie Regala and signed into law by Governor Gary Locke, will prevent nuisance species from being introduced to Northwest waterways when cargo ships empty their ballast water. A Senate companion to her bill on aquatic species establishes an aquatic nuisance species coordinating committee.
