Jeremy Kalin is a Senior Advisor to the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, bringing his decade of experience in clean energy financing, with a focus on mobilizing capital for underserved energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean water market segments. Kalin was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2006 and 2008, representing Chisago County, a rural and exurban county 30-45 miles north of the Twin Cities. As State Representative, Kalin authored nation-leading energy conservation policies and clean energy financing platforms.
With the White House and NCEL, Kalin founded and chaired the national, bipartisan Coalition of Legislators for Energy Action Now (CLEAN). Kalin also serves as a Senior Fellow at GOVERNING Institute. For the past 7 years, Kalin has served as founder and CEO of Eutectics, a mission-oriented company focused on making clean energy mainstream, by connecting qualified clean energy projects with committed capital. Eutectics has helped achieve several “firsts” including the first County-hosted “green bank” in the country, the first community-bank-funded PACE project, and the first affordable housing community solar subscriptions in the U.S.
Kalin lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife, Hope, and 6-year-old twins Jonah and Leah. When not advising NCEL or facilitating clean energy financing, you can find him working his vegetable garden, flycasting in a narrow stream, or making functional wood-fired pottery in his basement studio.
